Staying Calm

This month we will be looking at the little things you can do to look after ourselves and relief stress levels and a few products that could help with our wellbeing.

Drink up

Tea is rich in antioxidants (a bonus for taking care of your skin!), with green tea considered to have the most health benefits of any kind of tea. We all can relate. When you had a bad day there's something very therapeutic about clicking down the on-switch of a kettle, ready for that life-affirming brew. But scientific
research has found that this act alone, before even brewing your cuppa, can actually reduce stress! Let's pop the kettle on shall we?!

Reading

Escape your bad day by reading a good book. It can be anything, one of your all-time favourites or a new book you've been scolding yourself for not having the time to read yet. Losing yourself in a story can have positive effects on a body that is experiencing stress, such as lowering your heart rate and easing the tension on your muscles. You will also find that as your mind is focused on reading, your current troubles will slip away.

Run a Bath

Stressful day? Try running a warm bath, adding the Rosemary Body Polish. Not only is having a bath beneficial for cleaning your skin and expanding your pores, but it can help give your tense muscles a relaxing break. Our polish contains the aroma of Rosemary which is invigorating, yet leaves skin lightly fragranced for
a beautiful uplifting and refreshing scent. (Tip: Make sure the water is not too cold or scalding hot, both these temperatures can cause your skin to become red and irritated!)

Write a Journel

Writing a journal can be very therapeutic. It allows you to keep a confidential account of the comings and goings of your life, your hopes, dreams and feelings. Although it's good to talk, journal writing can be a healthy way to vent those feelings in a creative format. Let your feelings flow on to the page, and as
soon as you put the pen down, make sure you are content and ready to set those feelings aside and continue being your happy go-lucky self.

Exercise

Everyone is different: looks, humour, interests, and even the way we deal with stress. Instead of curling up underneath your duvet, you may like to get active during times of hardship. Aside from the physical activity of running or walking which releases positive endorphins, it has been proven that being amongst nature can decrease feelings of sadness and anger, having a profoundly positive effect on our wellbeing. We try as much as possible to get outside and go for a countryside when we can. We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world!
